It Finally Hailed

It finally hailed at my house.  It was one of those storms that was on track to miss us and then it moved slightly west and hit us.  That being said it was nothing like the storm of 2013 where I lost everything.  Luckily I was able to get most of my pots covered and they were saved, but my window boxes and other pots I couldn't cover got stripped.  Not 100% but they do look sad and pathetic.  My vegetable garden doesn't look too bad either.  The nasturtiums always take the brunt of the hail and the amaranth leaves were stripped and the tomatoes look shot up, but I am still going to have veggies.

The worst part was I got stuck under the large blue spruce in the back corner.  I started to move those pots when the hail hit and I knew I could not safely get back to the house.  Scared my husband to death.  When I finally got to the house after the storm, he yelled at me - loudly.  I don't blame him.  He was just worried about me.

It has been a week since the storm and I can see what has died so I will do some trimming and start fertilizing.  I bet my window boxes and other pots will fill back in.  Probably not as nice as they were before the storm, but it will be good enough.

Little blurry, but I think you get the gist of it.

The hail was strong enough to make the yard look like it was aerated.

Pieces and parts of plants.

The other window box looks better.

Oh well!!
