I have a secret. I hate evergreen trees! Actually I hate evergreen trees in suburban neighborhoods. They are very singular and lonely. Very rarely do you see one that is nicely integrated into landscape design. The HOA for the subdivision I live in requires an evergreen tree in all front yards so you get a mix of everything from large blues spruces to conifers to everything else in between. The only good thing about the pine tree in my front yard is it looks nice around Christmas times with lights; otherwise I would love to cut it down and do something different.
