Monterey, CA

I was in Monterey, CA for about a week this June.  I had a great time enjoying the sites but it was cold.  Luckily, I had been watching the weather before we left on our trip and brought along a variety of jackets, sweaters and fleeces.  Anyhow, the plants don't seem to mind the weather.  I spent my time on the trip looking at plants, whereas, my lovely spouse spent his time looking at cars.

Lone Cypress on the 17 Mile Drive.

Giant agave

Happy butterfly

I have an agave similar to this in a pot, but is substantially smaller than this one.

I think the flower is from an agave.

I am jealous of this plant.  I can only grow Mexican sage in a pot during the summer.
