I have been so behind on my garden chores. It didn't help that we were gone a month and then came home very sick.
Yesterday was the big push to get some stuff done before the weather turns extremely cold.

- I pulled up all of the dead veggies in my garden. I didn't get the debris dumped and that may have to wait till Spring, but at least that is done.
- I got my tomato cages brought in and stored under the house.
- I got my carrots and leaks dug up. I knew you could leave them in the ground after a frost or freeze and they would be fine. That fact was proven. Next year I won't be in a rush to harvest either of those.
- I planted garlic and shallots. I am not sure how they will do. Normally I do this late October or early November. I guess I will find out.
- I covered the new rose in the front yard. I only cover new roses for the first winter. After that they are on their own.
Mutant carrot - four carrots in one. Looks the bugs had a little snack when it started to split. I will cut that out and will eat it anyway. Hopefully it tastes ok. Not sure. |
