Garden of Dreams - Part Deux

We have reached our temperature high of 10 degrees.  I am going to daydream and pretend I am somewhere else where the sun is shining and my body is warm.

It was a beautiful day in Katmandu when we visited the Garden of Dreams - sunny and humid.  Anywhere is more humid than Colorado.

One of a set of elephants on the left hand side of the Gardens.

Off to the right is the cafe at the gardens.  It wasn't open while we were there.

I have four butterfly bushes in my yard.  They seem to thrive in the dry Colorado climate as well as Nepal.

Hydrangea - they were also common growing above 8,000 feet on the trail.

Marigolds are planted everywhere in Nepal - in gardens and in pots. They have religious significance to Hindus.

Plant I can't grow in Colorado

There is a walk up area where you can view the gardens.  Back behind is an area where I assume they propagate and store extra plants for the garden.

View from top structure.  The woman was collecting flowers off of the plant.  There is also bus parking behind.

The area behind the Gardens has not been revitalized.  I don't know if it was part of the original Gardens or not.  The white building is a library.  The architecture and grounds have the potential to be just as interesting as the Gardens.

Another view from top of structure.  The tree in the background is a rubber tree.  I have one in my living room, but much smaller.  I remember the first time I saw one the wild.  We were in Lima, Peru and it was a huge tree.  I keep thinking I should put mine outside in the summer, but it is so hard to move and I am afraid it could get too big.
