Brrrrr - it is noon on Monday and the high so far is 9 degrees. We are suppose to get to 19 degrees. Not sure I believe that.
Luckily, some of my house plants are blooming which brings a little cheer to life. The Crassula streyi is blooming and has pretty star shaped flowers. It is a native to South Africa with shiny forest green leaves. The underside of the leaves are burgundy or claret. Claret makes the plant sound more sophisticated. I bought this plant earlier this year because I thought it looked cool, which is how I determine if I am going buy most plants. It is suppose to get 12-18 inches tall. It spends its winters in the south facing guest bedroom and summers on the front porch.
