Summer Solstice 2020

I can't believe the summer solstice is already upon us.  I have no idea where the first half of the year has gone.  Actually I do know, but not today.  I am still slowing working through all of my garden projects.  It has been slow going.  I get really excited and work like a crazy person and then I run out of energy.  I am going through my crazy gardening lady phase.  I have a couple areas that have gotten too wild in the yard and it is time to tame them.

Project #1 - I noticed the other day that I really liked the color combination between the Adelaide Hoodless rose and the Cashmere Sage.  It is a great combination of a red and purple.  I will confess the links to the plants online do not do them any justice.

First thing I did was pulling some of the ornamental grasses.  I am only keeping the Karly Rose Oriental Fountain Grass.  I like the color and texture much better.  I am either going to divide the existing plant or buy 2 new ones to make it a set of three.  I try and plant in odd groupings.  I am going to also add some additional Jupiter's Beard and yarrow.  I am not sure what will happen after that.  I tend worry that I am not creating color and interest throughout the season.  I am just watch and see how the space evolves during the rest of the summer.
