It dawned on me recently that I really know very little about the insects in my yard. Yes, I have grasshoppers, ladybugs and butterflies, but I can't tell you anything more than that. Every year I swear I am going to learn more about grasshoppers and their life cycle. Where do they go during the winter? Do they all die off? Do they lay eggs and then die? Are there different grasshoppers in my yard? So many questions.
My plan for 2020 is take the time and identified what is living in my yard and learn more about them. Yes, it is important to save the bees and provide them food and shelter, but what else is going on and how can make all living creatures in my yard happy and bountiful.
