I have been stung six times. Yes, six times by wasps this summer. One in the foot, one in the nostril, twice in the calf, one in the wrist and one in the side. The sting in the nostril was horrific. They were living in the pole of the umbrella stand and I didn't see them. Next thing I know something is up my nose and I am screaming. I am sure the whole neighborhood heard me. At first I wasn't sure why this sudden influx of wasps. We always have them in the summer and they generally leave us alone. This year is different. We have sprayed and put up traps. Luckily there was a story in the news about the dry weather pushing them into backyards looking for food and water. This makes total sense once you think about it. What is so surprising is how much they have already started to slow down. Do they know something that we don't. They are easier to kill now with a fly swatter when sitting outside.

Already been emptied once! |

They love my snail flower plant. Only place in the yard I haven't been stung. |
