One of the biggest hazards of gardening is bugs. Yes I know bugs are part of the gardening landscape, but I am talking about the bugs that get brought in every fall on houseplants. I have combated aphids, scale and mealy bugs, but this year brought something new - baby grasshoppers. They have been appearing regularly in my bathtub which means they either came in with the Christmas cactus or the lemon or lime trees. They could be elsewhere in the house but they stand out very clearly in the white tub. Every time I think I have seen the last of them a new batch appears. I hope I don't wake up one morning to a plague. That would be way more embarrassing than the aphid infestation from several years ago.
