Gibbs Gardens

I had the chance to visit Gibbs Gardens in northeast Georgia earlier this month.  It was a fluke that I ventured out to visit it.  I had planned on going antiquing that day, but changed my mind at the last minute.  It was definitely worth the trip (minus the loss of cell coverage and nervous about finding my way back to the hotel).  Gibbs Gardens is known for its massive Daffodil Garden.  The signs say something like "home of 21 million daffodils".  I remember several years ago watching a program on PBS about Gibbs Gardens (one of the few stations that has gardening shows).  I was amazed at all of the daffodils.  I am so glad I put two and two together and figured out this was the same place I saw on PBS.  The daffodils bloomed early this year.  One of the greeters stated they bloomed in early February, but there were a few late season flowers and they would smell sweet.  I can confirm that yes the late season daffodils did smell sweet.  The total space is 220 acres.  If you visit the website is lists what is blooming now.  Even though the daffodils are long gone, there is so much more to see and enjoy.
