One of the joys of growing plants indoors in the winter is bugs. I tend to fight scale, mealybugs and aphids. Luckily not all of my indoor plants are prone to these bugs. The ones that are prone to bugs require constant attention in the winter. So far I have only noticed scale and mealybugs on my jade plants, lemon tree and bay tree. The mealybugs were so bad on one jade plant that I had to lug it upstairs to the bath tub for a wash. It is heavy and it never fails that a cat has to help you. I am sure one of these days I going to trip over one of them and then it will be a disaster. Luckily the scale has been minor on the bay tree and lemon tree so I am ahead of the game.

I am surprised a cat is not in this photo. |
