It has been a good year for hummingbirds in the yard. I don't normally pay attention to when they arrive. They just seem to arrive and this is the longest I have seen them in the yard. I think the last 10 days or so was the last time I saw one. I can't decide how many there were. There were at least two consistently visiting and maybe a third. I would see two of them chasing each other around the yard and then I would stop and wonder if there a third one would sneak in when the other two were chasing each other. I have tried so hard over the years to have a diverse selection of plants in the yard so bees, birds, moths, butterflies and anything else would find a happy home in my yard (even the neighbors cats). I think it has paid off. I don't want to boast but I think I have done a pretty good job.
