Mary, Mary, quite contrary - How does your garden grow? - With silver bells and cockleshells - And pretty maids all in a row.
When I go out to my garden I am always saying this nursery rhyme. It is one of the few I remember from my childhood. Overall it has been a good gardening season. I am always amazed that everything comes up, but there are always those plants that don't do as well or plants that do better than expected.
I have grown the largest broccoli plants ever, whereas, the morning glories have been slow and didn't fill in as well this year. That being said they are not all purple.
Three of the tomato plants in the garden are producing fruit and the other two look like I planted them last week.
Eggplant is growing well, but the pepper plants have been slow.
I am not as happy with the flowers in the front. Normally I plant zinnias, but I decided to mix it up this year. Instead the cosmos took over and you can't see much else. Next year, NO cosmos.
I started this broccoli from seed this year and has done really well. |
I took the next three pictures from the bedroom window. I am sure the neighbors were trying to figure out why I took the window screen out and was taking photos.
