Million Dollar Question

The million dollar question for April 30 is whether I dig up and replace the spirea bush or give it another chance.  Right now it looks really bad.  Actually it look likes something beat it up, which is true.  The hail storm destroyed it last summer.  It is slowly showing signs of life but I am not sure it is worth the effort.  If I replace it, I am interested in the Wax Flower by Plant Select.  I have been looking at this shrub for several years.  The description says it has fragrant clusters of waxy, white flowers in late spring with flaking reddish-brown bark.  Green foliage turns orange in Autumn.  It is 4' x 4' and is a Western native.  The only down side with replacing the spirea is the bees.  The bees love this plant in mid to late summer when it flowers.  That being said, the bees have decreased in my yard over the years.  When we moved into this house in 2001, the spirea would be covered with bees and each year there are fewer and fewer bees.  I don't want to disturb or take away anything from the bees.  I have a little more time, but I am going to have decide soon.

This picture does not show how bad it really looks.

Some signs of life
