I discovered my lemon tree had aphids around Thanksgiving and I was able to get rid of most of them or at least get the situation under control. We were gone the week of Christmas and when I came back it had become a full blown infestation. The lemon tree was covered and so were all of the other plants next to it. I couldn't believe how bad it was. It was almost embarrassing.
All of the plants in the room got a bath regardless of whether it had aphids or not and the lemon tree spent some time on the floor wrapped in a tarp while I sprayed it every day with insecticidal soap. Once again the situation is under control and I am checking everyday for aphids. There are still a few, but not like before.
Otherwise, my lemon tree is doing really well. It has about 7 ripe or almost ripe lemons on it. It has been flowering for months and setting new fruit. This may be the most successful I have been with the plant. The tricky part is around March when it likes less water. The last few years I have over watered it and lost half of the leaves. I am determined this year not to have that happen. If I am successful, a lime tree is in my future.

These are the least ripe of the group. They are close, but I think they need to be bit more yellow. |

This one has been ripe the longest. I believe I read some where you can leave the ripe fruit on and still be okay. |
