Not Quite

It was supposed to snow on Friday and then frost.  This meant spending last Wednesday and Thursday preparing to bring everything in.  This meant emptying the last of the pots of annuals and putting them under the house.  It also meant bringing in the 40+ agave, succulents and miscellanous plants that live outside in the summer and spend the winter inside.  This number has steadily grown over the years.  I have to be quite creative about where I put all of these plants.  I got them all in.  Now the cats have to leave them alone.

After all of my hard work, we only had rain/snow mix Friday morning and no frost.
This is my front porch in the summer.

A selection of the various plants on the porch

More plants on the porch

The bay tree which has almost reached the top of the porch ceiling.  Not sure what to do when it is too tall for the porch.  I will worry about that next year.
Most of the agave live in the kitchen in the winter.  The cats have to share space with the plants.

The bay tree does really well sitting in the front entry in the winter.  It gets good morning sun.

My parents share this room (when visiting) with the plants in the winter.

The lemon tree (front left) spends in its winter in front of the south facing window.  It has about 5 lemons on it right now.

This agave has to stay outside as long as possible.  It has ants living in it.  Hopefully they will relocate soon so I can bring this plant in.
