I heard this morning that Trail Ridge Road is closed in Rocky Mountain National Park and that chains laws are in effect on I-70. This is a sudden reminder that it is Fall and it is time to start thinking about cleaning up and getting the yard ready for winter.
The weather is so erratic this time of year. One day it is cold and breezy and the next day it is warm and sunny. Today is an excellent example of that. It is suppose to be close to 70 degrees, but the wind is blowing and it cloudy outside. You can't see the mountains and the wind has that cold nip to it, but the next three days are suppose to be upper 70s to low 80s with sun, sun, sun and no wind.
I get a little overwhelmed thinking about what needs to be done. It may not frost or freeze for several weeks, but I need to decide if I am going to plant garlic and shallots this year. The shallots did extremely well but the garlic was small and didn't produce much. There are pots to be emptied of annuals and then there are all of the indoor plants that live outside during the summer that have to be brought inside for the winter. That is a whole post by itself.
I think I will worry about all of that in a couple of days.
Not really gardening related, but these photos were taken Saturday. It suspect the view is much different today.
